FAQS - CANCELLATION 2020

You have 3 options:

OPTION 1:

Defer your entry for the 2021 edition, which is scheduled to take place on September 26, 2021, maintaining all rights to your registration (holder changes, refund for injury, etc.) and to the contracted services (photography service, medal engraving, etc).

By this option you will ensure your place in the 2021 edition.

IMPORTANT: Participants who defer their registration for the 2021 edition will NOT suffer any price increase either in the registration or in the contracted services.

OPTION 2:

Defer your entry for the 2022 or 2023 edition, maintaining all rights to your registration (holder changes, refund for injury, etc) and to the contracted services (photography service, medal engraving, etc).

IMPORTANT: Participants who defer their registration for the 2022 or 2023 edition will NOT suffer any price increase either in the registration or in the contracted services.

OPTION 3:

Refund of registration fee minus operating and transaction costs (10%).

Registered participants who choose Option 1 or Option 2 will:

  • Reserve entry fee and all paid services for 2021 with no additional payments or price increases
  • Receive a 10% discount on all purchases made at the official event shop www.mapoma-shop.com until December 31, 2020.
  • They will help the Organization to overcome one of the most difficult moments in its history; Because after 42 years of dreams fulfilled on the streets of Madrid, your solidarity is now vital for us.
IMPORTANT: Those participants who do NOT complete the process to choose the option they want on their 2020 entry from their REGISTRATION MANAGER  (emails to the organization ARE NOT VALID as choice), before August 31, 2020, will automatically apply to OPTION 1.

All participants registered for the 2020 edition will receive an email with the instructions and the steps to follow.

If you have not received the email, check your “spam”, possibly your server has sent it there.

If you have not received it and you do not have it in “Spam”, please enter in your “registration manager” from this link and select the option you want for your 2020 registration.

Remember that you must have the EMAIL ADDRESS which you used for your entry and the LOCATOR of your registration.

IMPORTANT: All participants who do NOT apply 

The deadline you have is until August 31, 2020 at 11:59 p.m. (Spanish time). To all participants who have not chosen one of the options before that date, OPTION 1 will be applied, and therefore, their registration will be automatically deferred to the 2021 edition.

If you do not have your locator you can get it from the access page to the manager of your registration.

If the locator you have gives you an error, you may be trying with a wrong locator.

  • In a few minutes you will receive an email with t your registration certificate attached where you can find your locator number.

Yes, even if you already deferred your entry for 2021 or 2022, you can choose one of the three options.

1. Keep your entry for 2021*. Please notice that the 2021 edition will take part 26 september (not in april)

2. Defer your entry to 2022 or 2022.

3. Apply for the refund

*If you deferred your entry for 25 april 2021 (date canceled) but still want to run on 26th september 2021. You do NOT have to do anything, your entry will be automatically moved.

IMPORTANT: Participants who have deferred their entry for 2022 and do NOT choose one of the new options before August 31, 2020, the option they chose will be respected and the organization will save their registration for 2022 (not 2021)

All participants who defer their entry for the 2021, 2022 or 2023 edition are guaranteed their place in the same distance * with no extra paymetns. They will not have to pay any extra amount, even if the price of the registration of the edition chosen is higher than what they paid.


IMPORTANT: In case the organization has to set participant limits , all participants who deferred their entry for future editions will have participation preference. In the event that, for reasons beyond the control of the organization, the limit of participants is less than the number of participants who have chosen to defer their entry to that edition, the organization will hold a ballot to distribute the places. Those participants who are not chosen in the ballot will have their spot guaranteed for another edition.


* Those participants who want to run in a longer distance, must pay the difference of the amount they have paid for their registration to the amount of the distance in which they wish to run.

Yes, you will be able to edit all the options you want (address, shirt size, etc) in your “entry manager”.


Yes, you can change your race distance. In case you want to run a longer distance you have to pay the price difference.


Yes, you can change your entry owner by paying the € 5 management fee.

Yes, all participants who choose option 1 or 2, will receive a 10% discount on ALL purchases made until December 31, 2020 at the official store https://mapoma-shop.com/

Discount codes will be sent by email from September 15, 2020.

If you choose OPTION 3 (Refund of the amount minus 10% of operating costs), we will refund you to the same credit card which was used to paid your registration.

All refunds will be processed from September 21, 2020 and will take 10 -15 days to be effective.

Refunds are made exclusively to the same credit card which the registration was paid with. 

That is because the refund is processed on the same purchase operation, so it is not possible to associate it with another card or bank account.

If your card is no longer active, ask us for a proof of payment so that you can claim the amount refunded at the bank that issued the credit card.

To request the proof of payment, write to us from September 21, 2020 to info@edprocknrollmadrid.com.

IMPORTANT: All refunds will be processed from September 21, 2020 and will take 10 -15 days to be effective.

The insurance has coverage during the year 2020 so the cancellation insurance will NOT remain active for future editions.

If you request the entry refund, the insurance amount will NOT be refunded.

If you registered through a Tour Operator, you will receive the same email as the rest of the participants so that you can choose what to do with your 2020 entry. If you choose the entry refund option, the organization will refund your entry amount to the credit card which your registration was paid with. In some cases, the refund will reach the Tour Operator credit card, so you must ask the Tour Operator for your refund.

Your place belongs to the sponsor and it is the sponsor’s decision how they allocate their places for future years.

Please contact them to determine what they will allow for 2021.

If you registered using an adidas promotion code, you will receive the same email as the rest of participants so that you can defer your entry to 2021, 2022 or 2023. We cannot refund the money because the purchase you made was for adidas sports equipment, and not for race entry. The race entry was a gift from adidas after the purchase.

No, 2020 edition  medals and t-shirts will not be delivered.

The organization of the series has extended one more year (until 2023) the deadline to complete all the races of the series so you can still get your super finisher medal.

The MAPOMA Running League by AS 2021 will begin on September 13, 2020 with “Madrid corre por Madrid” (Virtual) and will end on December 31, 2021, so the 2021 edition of the EDP Rock n Roll Madrid Marathon & ½ will count as an official race of the MRL by AS 2021.
